Ephemerol

Taking its namesake from the drug in David Cronenberg’s Scanners, Ephemerol is to be a series of 630 images. The pieces begin as blind sketches in red ballpoint. Continuing with the red ballpoint, I polish up these sketches into something tangible before moving in with ink. I work with my Pentel Technica Hybrid 0.3mm until I’ve grown tired of working on the piece. At this point, the piece has a little rest whilst I turn my efforts towards something else. After several months, I return to polish up my penwork before scanning the piece and moving into Clip Studio. There I add in a border, digital screentones for added depth/interest, and a signature.
